Multilingual monastery websites that stay looked after

We build monastery websites in Chinese, English and Tibetan, typeset the texts, publish announcements and explain clearly how to sponsor or offer lamps. After launch, we handle day-to-day updates and technical upkeep for the long term.

Mock-up: a monastery news page, with dates in the monastery's own calendar system

Problems many monastery sites run into

Nobody updates it after launch

Puja notices and teachings stop years ago, and devotees end up searching social media instead.

Only one language

Overseas Chinese and Western devotees can't read it, and Tibetan content is often missing altogether.

Tibetan text renders wrong

Missing fonts and bad line breaks chop scripture into fragments on phones.

Unclear ways to give

People who want to offer lamps or make offerings can't find reliable instructions or channels.

What we provide

Three languages

Chinese, English and Tibetan versions of every page; one announcement can be published side by side in all three.

Scripture typesetting

Tibetan breaks at syllable markers, Tibetan–Chinese parallel layouts are supported, and fonts ship with the site.

News and puja schedule

The monastery can post notices itself. Schedules show Tibetan dates in the monastery's own system (Phugpa or Tsurluk).

Sponsorship and lamp offerings

Sponsorship projects, lamp offerings and contact channels written up clearly and published once the monastery approves them.

Visitor guide

Getting there, opening hours, dress and etiquette, for first-time visitors.

Long-term care

We handle content updates, security patches and backups. The monastery can reach us whenever it needs to.

How we deliver

The monastery signs off on each step before we move on.

  1. Gather materials

The monastery shares its history, lineage, photos and schedule. We organise them into a site structure.

  2. Build

We design and develop from that structure, in all three languages at once.

  3. Review together

The monastery checks every page of text, photos and translation. Our Buddhist-studies editor checks the terms.

  4. Launch

We connect a domain in the monastery's name and confirm the site opens in mainland China and abroad.

  5. Maintain

We update content on an agreed schedule and handle anything technical.

Technical details

Works in mainland China

No dependence on Google fonts, maps or video. All fonts are self-hosted.

Designed for phones first

Most visitors arrive from social media links, so every page reads well on a phone before anything else.

The site belongs to the monastery

Domain, accounts and data are in the monastery's name, and it can edit or remove content at any time.
